The Sandy Beach Association is accepting applications for its staff for the 2024 Summer season.

This summer, we are only hiring in advance for the Beach Maintenance Crew position.

We do not anticipate hiring new lifeguards or snack bar attendants before this upcoming season.
Still, we will update this page and our social media channels if our hiring needs change throughout the season.

Located in the heart of Cohasset, Massachusetts, Sandy Beach is a privately developed barrier beach owned and managed by the Sandy Beach Association (SBA). Hundreds of people visit Sandy Beach each summer, and the Association is committed to providing a clean, safe beach for our patrons to enjoy. Finding the right staff is essential to delivering on our promise to our community.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Ever wonder why Sandy Beach appears so pristine every morning? Our Sandy Beach Maintenance Crew staff patrols the area each morning, eliminating trash and debris accumulated or washed ashore during the night – recycling whenever possible.

This team is responsible for daily restroom maintenance, ensuring the facilities are clean and appropriately outfitted for the onslaught of happy beach-goers. Should someone need help with a cumbersome cooler or a station wagon load of beach paraphernalia, a Sandy Beach Crew Member is also responsible for offering a helping hand.

Because the Sandy Beach parking lot requires a beach pass, the Sandy Beach Maintenance Crew’s job is to ensure that each vehicle entering has met this qualification by sitting at the entrance gate and checking stickers.

Employment Time Frame:

• Sandy Beach will open daily from June 8 to September 2, 2024.

• Staff is expected to be available on part-time shifts one week before opening to prepare the beach for opening (unless school is still in session).

• During the summer (June 8 – September 2, 2024), the beach will be open 7 days a week.

• Beach Maintenance staff will work approximately 6-10 hours per week depending on need and availability.

• Staff members must be available for weekend shifts and holidays.

• Staff must be able to do one shift each weekend throughout the season.

Application Procedure:

• All candidates, 14-15 years of age, must complete the Sandy Beach Association Sandy Beach Crew Employment Application. Must be 14 years old by June 1, 2024.
